The 28th of August – 3rd of September pitches itself as hectic and a half.
And why, are these dates anything to get stressed about? New Zealand Fashion Week is the answer to that. The one week in the New Zealand calendar in which the whole industry comes together to see some of our best and brightest. Not only the designers that showcase, but the photographers that shoot, the bloggers that attend, the models that walk – everyone in attendance plays some role whether that be small or large and it is this coming together that I believe makes the week so worth the mares.
With 10 shows on day one (Tuesday) which slowed to 4-5 on Wednesday and Thursday, snaps were taken, hellos were given and collections were admired (oh and dancing was also a thing) (shoutout to rose and some good tunes). This was the first year I actually decided to take in more shows than I shot, as much as I enjoy capturing the gals and guys that walk the walk – it was refreshing to merely take in what I was seeing in front of me. Rachel Mills, Wynn Hamlyn, Salasai, Kate Sylvester and Stolen GF Club can be named as my Soph stand outs of the week.
Have a looksie at some of my snaps from Rachel Mills, Andrea Moore, Wynn Hamlyn and Zambesi below.
