BUILD ME UP BUTTERCUP

Part of me wanted to compose one of those typical 2016 commemoration posts including thank-you’s and reminiscing over the many highs and lows that guided each one of us through the year, but as soon as I begin to decipher the endless number of things, people, moments, opportunities, breakfast cereals (the whole works) in my mind which happened last year – I get all flustered simply because of how MUCH happened. It’s easy to state some of my biggest achievements such as getting my writing printed in Remix Mag, having my work on Vogue Italia, getting a poster of myself in Burger Burger, getting invited to the Tiffany and Co launch and meeting Shanina Shaik, passing year 13 with top marks (this post gives me an excuse to make myself sound cool and accomplished) but that doesn’t even begin to capture what happened over the year, especially as I find so much happiness in the little things which I don’t document for the world to see that often. See now I’m halfway through writing this and am considering writing that typical 2016 commemoration post I was so opposed to a few lines above. But since I have decided to lead such an crazy life at such a young age (life is what you make of it and my definition of a crazy life will differ from that of others, but being 17 and working in fashion is hella snazzy) filled with such a diverse and extensive range of people, typing up a play by play of 2016 would be a novel. So I will end this here saying, thankyou 2016 but by God am I excited for what this year has to bring.
