HAPPY BIRTHDAY SONDERINGG

The fact that my blog has been in motion for a year now completely sprung on my unsuspecting self last night (mid way through reading the engrossing sophisticated novel of Harry Potter four). Now for those of you who didn’t follow the original sonderingg.com which was launched on the 7th of July 2015, upon looking at this blog you may be pondering over the fact there are so little shoots and work on display. So let me enlighten you,

I began the old sonderingg.com on a creative whim, I began blogging at the age of 14 (lets not even dive into the mess that was my first ever blog) and when I was 16 I began to take more of an interest in magazines such as Remix and online magazines such as Zeum and I came up with an idea to create some sort of online platform to showcase my work. Beginning with shooting a few of my friends and then in late July I had this epiphany – probably whilst in bed reading Harry Potter as well  – why was I shooting friends when I knew all these models? So from there I started shooting models and thats where it begins. After this came fashion week, more photoshoots, then I got signed to Unique Model Management, more photoshoots, then I started writing for Remix Magazine & was pretty much shooting models every other day whilst keeping up top marks at school (with the exception of History). After turning 17 my views began to evolve. Change is inevitable and in this case was a very good thing, I took more interest in brands and people and working with designers and changed the style of my shoots.

The fashion industry is no easy place for a 17 year old let me tell you, you’re probably reading this and thinking oh wow that sounds kind of easy? Please just throw that thought out of your mind, the work that goes into it is insane, it is also incredibly emotionally challenging as it is competitive and petty and people can be inconceivably cruel. This stuff does not happen over night, if I was to write out everything it would be a novel. I got incredibly sick & tired of the old sonderingg.com and felt as though it was limiting me so I decided to launch a new one, and I saved large amounts of my old work but didn’t repost it because I’m not a huge fan of a lot of it – it’s kind of like looking back on an old selfie *cringe*. So this leads to why I decided to curate this post, so people who didn’t know, now know I have done a large number of shoots, the images I’ve put in aren’t even close to showing all of them.

So a year later and things are happening with brands, models and everything in between which if you told me last year I would’ve laughed in your face and said “I wish”. We’ve got a hell of a journey to go but I feel so incredibly blessed & a huge thanks to everyone who has supported me over the past year.
